LIBERTÉ – The island of Haiti produces some of the finest coffees in the Americas. Characterized by medium body, delicate and soft texture with natural sweetness and chocolaty hints combined with South American coffees…you are up for a treat. This assemblage of coffees also contains Peruvian and Colombian coffees exhibiting flavor notes of milk chocolate, mixed berries, Papaya, and brown sugar. The island of Haiti gave birth to the insurrection of independence in the entirety of the western hemisphere. Haiti was the first nation to declare independence defeating the French in 1804. Haiti supported many countries in the American continent to also gain their independence from their colonizers. Haiti supported Simón Bolívar during the Latin American wars of independence and harbored his forces. When Bolívar fled the Second Republic of Venezuela following its fall in 1815, he became close to Alexandre Pétion, the first president of Haiti, and received aid.
